in the market for this particular contract. It is believed to cover 56
hospitals and about 360 clinics serving the U.S. military and its dependents.
It would include work for Veterans Affairs facilities.

with Computer Sciences Corp. and Hewlett-Packard to compete for the contract.”
Even last year, the Defense and Veterans
Affairs departments were ready to take initiative on this plan which will
benefit both of the systems simply by developing an electronic health records
system. However the requests for these plans and proposals were “issued for an
off the shelf electronic records system from commercial providers.” A Cerner
spokesperson, Kate O’Neill said that the company is looking forward to attain
its goals efficiently and its main goal is to build a highly interoperable
system which will function on modern and open architecture.
It is expected that the contract will be
accepted in 2015. The partners of Cerner in this contract bid have had an
experience in federal contracting. Leidos, engineering company, was expanded in
the start of this year from Science Applications International Corporation.
Hence in a nutshell, Cerner Corporation believes that signing this huge
